Florida Occupant Protection Resource Center
Florida Child Safety Seat Distribution Program
The Florida Department of Transportation Safety Office has provided funding to purchase car seats for distribution through the Florida Occupant Protection Resource Center (OPRC) to trained/qualified Child Passenger Safety (CPS) Instructors. These car seats are provided to individuals along with a demonstration of proper fitting and function. The OPRC is excited to be the organization that will purchase and establish the statewide distribution process for the current year. The single most effective safety device available to reduce child injury and death from automobile crashes is a properly installed and fitted car seat. The purpose of the program is to provide car seats to individuals (for a nominal fee) in order to reduce injuries and deaths. Child Safety Seat Recipients are encouraged to share resources in order to meet the need in their area.
In order to receive car seats for distribution through the Florida Child Safety Seat Distribution Program, the following steps must be completed.
